The Remodeling Process
Here's A Generalized Breakdown of The Process
Step 1: Planning & Design
-Identify the areas of your home/building that you want to remodel and set clear goals.
-Develop a budget that will cover materials, labor, permits (if applicable) and unexpected costs. (see step 4, second line)
-Collaborate with our sales & design team to create detailed plans for the remodel, considering layout, materials, and aesthetics.
Step 2: Obtaining Permits
-We will research and acquire any necessary building permits and approvals from local authorities if required.
-We will also ensure your plans adhere to zoning regulations and building codes, including H.O.A.'s.
-We prioritize taking the weight of this sometimes complex process off the shoulders of our customers.
Step 3: Selecting Materials
-Select materials, fixtures, and finishes that align with your design, vision, and budget.
-We will discuss and write up a clear contract outlining the details of your projects, timelines, as well as address any questions or concerns you may have before beginning any construction work.
-We will also go over the trades and crew(s) who will be working on your project.
Step 4: Demolition & preparation
-We will begin the remodel by clearing out the designated areas, removing existing fixtures and/or materials where needed, and preparing the space for construction.
-During this step we will address any structural issues/changes, plumbing, electrical, or anything that might need updating upon removal of existing materials. Sometimes there is unseen damage hiding behind existing material and this is where unexpected/unforeseen additional costs may apply, for example.
Step 5: Construction & Installation
-Execute the remodel according to the approved plans including framing, plumbing, electrical work, drywall, insulation, material installation etc, and any other necessary work related to the remodeling project.
-Install new fixtures, finishes, cabinetry, and other design elements included in the project.
-We will be available for direct and open communication during this process to ensure progress aligns with timeline and vision.
Step 6: Finishing Touches & Final inspection
-Apply/install final products and materials, adding any remaining decorative elements, and trimming our plumbing and electrical if/where needed.
-Conduct a thorough walkthrough with us (typically the Project Manager assigned to your job) to address any minor adjustments or touch-ups, as well as any concerns and questions that you may have before finishing the project.
-Arrange for a final inspection to ensure the remodel meets all safety and building standards, as well as your expectations and voila! Enjoy your newly remodeled space :)
Remember that every home remodel can have its unique challenges and considerations, so it's essential to be flexible and adaptable throughout the process. Good communication, realistic expectations, and proper planning can help ensure a successful home remodel!
